You’ll receive notifications via the Hearth Companion App. Anyone who has the Hearth Companion App downloaded can receive push notifications for To-dos, Routines, and Hearth calendar events.
How do I enable notifications?
For iPhone users, upon download, you should be automatically prompted to enable iOS notifications for the Hearth Companion App. If you initially declined but want to enable them again, here’s how to do so:
- Open your Settings app
- Tap into Notifications
- Scroll to find Hearth
- Toggle ‘Allow Notifications’ on
If you still are not receiving notifications, try deleting and reinstalling the Companion App. This should reset the iOS settings for you to receive notifications.
For Android users, upon downloading and signing in to the application, you may be automatically prompted to enable notifications for the Hearth Companion App. If you are not prompted to do so, or if you initially declined but want to enable them again, here’s how to do so:
- Open your Settings app
- Tap into Notifications, then App Settings
- Scroll to find Hearth (you may need to tap on All apps first!)
- Toggle ‘Allow Notifications’ on

What types of notifications can I receive?
From the Notifications page on the Companion App, there are several notification types you can toggle on to receive. We’re excited to add more notification types in the future!
Event Notifications “New Events” notifications allows you to be notified every time you’re added to a new Hearth event by a family member.
If you are looking to receive event-specific reminders for Hearth events, these can be set per-event when you create or edit your events from the Companion App.
To-dos
“New To-dos” will notify you when you’re assigned to a new To-do on Hearth.
“Completing To-do” allows you to receive notifications when someone in your family completes a To-do.
Routines
“Starting Routine” lets you stay in the know anytime a routine is started.
“Completing Routine” keeps you up to date anytime a routine is completed.
FAQs
Can my kids get notifications? Yes, if they have phones! ****Any family member who has a Hearth profile with an associated email and has access to the Companion App can receive notifications on their personal device.
Do I need to have notifications on? Not at all. You can turn them on or off as needed and even customize them to fit your needs within your app’s settings.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
If you are not receiving notifications to your mobile device from the Companion App, there are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
First, please ensure the app notifications are enabled in your device’s settings.
Next, ensure the notification types are toggled on in the Companion App as well.
