Display Notifications let reminders appear directly on your Hearth Display with a sound cue—so your family never misses what’s next. You can use them for Hearth-created events, routines, and rewards.
How to enable Display Notification Sounds:
- On the Hearth Display, tap the menu (top left)
- Tap Notification Settings
- Toggle on Sounds
Select your preferred alert sound
Optional: Turn on Do Not Disturb to mute sounds during certain hours, and set a start and end time.
How to Adjust the Volume
- On the lower back of the Hearth Display, locate the buttons at the bottom center (you can gently place your hands along the bottom edge of the Display to find them)
- Tap the top left button to decrease volume or the right button to increase volume
- A volume indicator will appear on the screen as you adjust
How to set Hearth Calendar Event Display notifications:
Note: Display Event Notifications are currently only available for events created directly in the Hearth App or Display.
- Open the Hearth Companion App
- Tap Calendar at the bottom left
- Choose one of the following:
- Tap to edit an existing Hearth event
- OR tap the + icon (bottom right) to create a new event
- Scroll to Display Reminder
- Select when you want the notification to appear on the Display
- Tap Save at the top right
Not seeing your event notification?
If your Display Notification isn’t appearing, check the following:
- The event was created directly in Hearth (not synced from another calendar)
- A Display Reminder is set (not just a standard reminder)
- Your Hearth Display is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi
How to set Routine Display notifications:
- Open the Hearth Companion App
- Tap Routines
- Choose one of the following:
- Tap to edit an existing Routine
- OR tap the + icon (bottom right) to create a new Routine
- Under Repeats, set the time you want the Routine to start
- Under Display Reminder, choose when you’d like the notification to appear:
- At the start time
- OR 5, 10, or 15 minutes before
- Tap Save in the top right
Not seeing your Routine notification?
If your Routine notification isn’t appearing, check the following:
- A Display Reminder is set (not just the routine time)
- The Routine has a scheduled start time under Repeats
- Your Hearth Display is on and connected to Wi-Fi
How to set Reward Display notifications:
- Open the Hearth Companion App
- Tap the notification bell at the top-right
- Toggle on Reward Activity
- Once enabled, reward updates will appear on your Display automatically.
How notifications appear on the Display
- Notifications appear at the bottom of the screen
- The newest notification shows on the left
- A sound will play (if enabled)
How to dismiss a notification
You can clear a notification by:
- Tapping the “X” on the notification
- OR tapping anywhere at the top of the screen
How to view all notifications
- Tap the bell icon (top right) on the Display
- Tap Show Expanded View to see all notifications
