The Native Hearth Calendar
If you’d like to start your calendaring journey from scratch using the native Hearth Calendar to manage your household, this is how we recommend setting up your family:
-
Invite any adults to create their account. They will have access to the Hearth Companion app and can manage events from both the Hearth Display and the Companion App. They also have the option to connect external calendars.
-
Add kid profiles. You can create a simple kid’s profile with no email attached, or if your child does have an email address, you can add it, and they will get an invite to create a Hearth account. This will give them access to the Hearth Companion App. Learn more about our profiles here.
-
Optional: Subscribe to your Hearth Calendar on other calendar systems (like Gmail) by exporting the URL from the Companion App. You will see a Hearth Calendar at the top of the Companion App under Manage Calendars.
This calendar cannot be changed or removed from your Hearth account as it is a shared calendar unique to the Hearth Ecosystem. This calendar can be exported and shared as a URL so that your Hearth Calendar is viewable from other calendar systems (like Apple Calendar or Gmail). Please note that this is a view-only public calendar and by sharing this URL you will share all events across all profiles created on Hearth. Children accounts (those with access to the Companion app) are blocked from sharing this URL.
We are exploring additional features, including adding locations to events, inviting non-Hearth users to individual calendar events, and more.
